Deanna and Mike were married March 25, 2023 in a snowmobile adventure wedding and we have been committed to squeezing every drop of living out of life’s sponge ever since because we believe life begins at the end of your comfort zone!
We are excited to document this journey both for our own recollection someday and to share with family and friends and new friends as it unfolds.
About Deanna...
Hi!
I’m Deanna!
Sailing had never been on my radar! I have always had a love of nature and the water, but fell deeper in love with the ocean when Mike and his two amazing kids introduced me to scuba diving in 2020.
In summer of 2024, Mike and I spent a week aboard a friends sailing catamaran in the BVI’s which sparked a new love and interest in a lifestyle that seemed full of exploration. A few weeks later our plans of travelling the country in an RV were discarded and replaced by an “RV for the water”. My first true sailing class/experience will be during our Atlantic crossing from France to Florida when we pick up our boat in February 2025!
I have spent the past 15 years working in veterinary medicine and will greatly miss my work family and spending my days hugging dogs! I am blessed with having an incredibly close family (shout out to Elsa <3), whom I will miss immensely as we embark on this journey. We hope they will spend many weeks aboard Sojourner building unique memories together!
About Mike...
My name is Mike and I have been blessed by God my entire life! I have 5 sisters, 2 wonderful grown children, and the kindest, most amazing wife on the planet! I have been an entrepreneur for the past 30 years and am excited to be able to travel and experience new people, new cultures, new food, new hikes, new beautiful nature, new scuba dives, and the new challenge of sailing (Never sailed till 6 months before heading out on this adventure!) I enjoy all things technology related, reading new books, and expanding my mind. Mostly I enjoy close relationships with my fellow humans!
About Waylon...
Waylon is a Weimaraner born in 2015 who is getting a little grey in the chin and has the old man attitude to go with it. He enjoys chasing squirrels (ok.. being taunted endlessly by squirrels) and is determined that someday he will get one in his mouth. He still loves wrestling with June and taking her toys away.
About June...
June is an Australian shepherd born in 2018 who like all aussies has boundless energy. She is our “velcro” dog as she demands to be stuck as close as she can be to you at all times. She loves chasing balls, wrestling with Waylon, but most of all snuggling into anyone who will provide that full body contact she loves!
About Sojourner...
A Sojourner is defined as one who travels to far lands, does not live in a permanent place, and relies on the goodwill of the local population in order to thrive. We believe it is a fitting name for the 2025 Bali 4.6 (shown here 3/4 built in France) which will soon be our home as we Sojourn around the world.
