Necker Island is a wildlife paradise, home to a fascinating array of species including playful ring-tailed lemurs (oh my gosh the babies are absurdly cute!), elegant pink flamingos, and stunning scarlet ibises. There are tortoises, kangaroos, and even a pony. The ultra wealthy can stay here for 5K - 120K per night (🫣) but lucky for us we had some crazy cool friends who invited us along for a private tour! If you are feeling like you need a kangaroo to hold your hands and eat out of your palm (trust me, you do!) then we would highly recommend this tour!

We had an amazing time @limeoutvi!! Lime Out is only accessible by boat, requires a short swim in and then provides you with the most delicious (and dangerous) drinks with some of the best tacos we have ever had (short rib 🤤)!!

The past two days have provided many incredible underwater moments!! We have found ourselves in awe of spotted eagle rays, admiring the peace of hawksbill turtles, and puckering at the sight of many reef and nurse sharks (still not “comfortable” with sharks)! St. John marine park waters have not disappointed! The schools of fish are plenty and a sight to behold!

Today we spent the afternoon floating in the water, throwing the dog’s favorite @chuckitofficial toy (and often retrieving it for them) off the cost of St. John, USVI. Much of St. John is a protected marine park with protected beaches for nesting turtles. When visiting places like this, we have to get a little creative with the dog’s exercise! We are so grateful for our @dok_inflatables large dog dock which allows both dogs to get in and out of the water with ease (again, thanks to our amazing friends @unanchored_life!).
With Waylon getting more arthritic and less agile, we have been using his @nonstopdogwear life vest more frequently. For a big dog, it gives him a surprising amount of buoyancy!
We will continue exploring the beautiful beaches of St. John in the days to come, but are currently basking in the beauty of Scott Beach!

The dogs had an amazing lunch @smycbarandrestaurant where they were lovingly given bacon and a bowl of ice water upon arrival 😍 Fantastic place with a staff who truly love dogs!

One of the things we consistently struggle to find in the smaller island markets is *good* coffee creamer. Today, I tested out my first batch of homemade vanilla coffee creamer. I gotta say…it isn’t too shabby!
14oz sweetened condensed milk
14oz milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
-mix all ingredients in a mason jar and shake-shake-shake!
-many people add alternative flavorings, often even maple syrup. I kept it simple for this one!

Beautiful morning walk to North Beach this morning on Scrub Island! Sojourner is on the dock for the first time in a long time, and we are soaking up the convenience of being able to just step onto land! At the same time we are missing our quiet anchorages!
